Facilities Associate, Wayfair Branded Stores
Salary Range: $22.00 per hour
NOTE: The hourly rate is a fixed entry rate for this position and applies to all new hires. While our system may display a pay range, this role’s starting rate is non-negotiable. Future pay increases are determined by performance, growth, and time in role, in accordance with our compensation policy.

As a Facilities Associate , you’ll be on the front lines of keeping our physical retail location safe, clean, and running smoothly. From fixing a leaky faucet to supporting preventative maintenance on equipment, your work will directly support the comfort and safety of both customers and team members. What Does a Facilities Associate Do?
️ Fix What Needs Fixing : Perform general maintenance tasks across plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical systems. You’re the go-to for keeping our space functional and polished.
- ️ Troubleshoot with Confidence : Work independently to identify and resolve issues with material handling systems and facility equipment. Little supervision, big impact.
Keep It Clean : Operate floor sweepers and scrubbers to maintain a clean and safe environment throughout the store.
Stay Safety-First : Handle hazardous materials in line with OSHA standards and Wayfair protocols. Follow lockout/tagout procedures and complete all safety checklists with care.
Track It All : Complete daily logs, inspection reports, and documentation for work orders using written or computer-based systems.
Maintain With Intention : Conduct preventative maintenance across building systems and safety devices — you’ll help us prevent problems before they start.
Support Store Operations : Be available to assist with additional job duties as needed by your manager or supervisor, always ready to lend a hand where it’s needed most.
You’ll Thrive in this Role if You Have:
Hands-On Experience: 1–3 years in facilities maintenance or general building operations (required). Retail facilities experience is a plus.
️ Mechanical Know-How: Confidence working with hand and power tools, interpreting blueprints, and navigating HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve facilities issues with a calm, methodical approach.
Equipment Proficiency: Comfortable using pallet jacks, forklifts, order pickers, and aerial lifts — safely and efficiently.
Physical Readiness: Able to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted, climb ladders, bend, stretch, and stand or walk for long periods in a non-climate-controlled environment.
Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to work variable hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional unscheduled overtime.
Safety Mindset: Always alert, detail-oriented, and committed to creating a secure environment for everyone on-site.
Additional Physical and Environmental Requirements:
Physical Activity: Frequent standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, and crawling.
Mobility & Movement: Frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the day.
Lifting Ability: Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs independently on a regular basis. Some projects may involve heavier items, which must be managed with proper assistance or equipment.
Vision Requirements: Includes close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
️ Temperature Flexibility: Comfortable in environments with varying temperature conditions.
Noise Tolerance: Occasional exposure to moderate noise levels and physical activity.
- ️ Safety Awareness: Minimal exposure to workplace or environmental hazards, and must adhere to all safety protocols.
