Basic Functions and Scope of Job:

The Expeditor/Buyer is responsible for supporting incoming supplies and executing procurement processes related to Modula’s requirements for materials, services, fixed assets, tooling, and production consumables. This position ensures the timely availability of components to meet production schedules while maintaining inventory levels within established parameters.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Maintain accurate data in the ERP/MRP system, including SAP.
  • Conduct cost analyses to support sourcing decisions and supplier selection.
  • Process purchase requisitions, issue purchase orders, and perform order follow-up and expediting activities.
  • Monitor supplier deliveries and maintain accurate availability dates in the MRP system.
  • Review and document vendor pricing and lead times.
  • Develop and maintain a reliable supplier base with emphasis on delivery performance, cost, and quality.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce purchase order volume and improve procurement efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

This role is critical to support production by ensuring the timely availability of materials at competitive cost. The individual in this position must demonstrate integrity, resourcefulness, and professionalism in interactions with colleagues, customers, and suppliers. Success in this role requires strong relationship-building skills, a customer-service mindset, timely follow-up, and the ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment. Qualified candidates should possess relevant experience, strong communication and time-management skills, and a solid understanding of purchasing and expediting processes.

  • Minimum of 2–4 years of related experience; experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Experience in manufacturing, purchasing, expediting, and related industry terminology preferred.
  • Experience using and maintaining ERP/MRP systems is preferred; SAP experience is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, are required, with advanced capability in Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and sound decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory management practices and controls.
Must be able to pass background check and drug screening.
