Job Title: Transportation Project Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Transportation Project Engineer to execute and help lead complex projects, including municipal roadways, roundabouts, trails, heavy highway, safety studies, green and complete street designs, and more for clients across Ohio. This role serves as a liaison between production staff and Project Managers. Ideal candidates will have multiple years of transportation engineering and design experience, with proficiency in OpenRoads, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed research, analyze data, and prepare plans to support innovative design solutions.
• Perform field reviews to identify opportunities and constraints.
• Collaborate with staff to create CAD-generated designs and compelling visual exhibits.
• Provide cost estimates, documentation, and quality checks to ensure project accuracy.
• Contribute to projects that enhance communities while ensuring safety and sustainability.
• Adhere to all quality and safety standards.
• Make recommendations and demonstrate analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Build professional connections through client meetings and networking.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 3 years of transportation engineering/design experience, including roadway, roundabout, highway, trails, and interchange.
• Proficiency in OpenRoads and/or Civil 3D.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering strongly preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• EIT or PE License is a plus.
• Prior experience managing transportation engineering projects.

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for 2-3 days of remote work from home. The role can be based near any of the offices in Ohio, including Columbus, Akron, Cleveland, Mason, and Newark. Highly qualified candidates may have the opportunity to work 100% remotely. Occasional site visits may be required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
