You’ve got what it takes to be an Optician at HSO if you:

• Have an Ohio Optician Dispensing License
• Current and valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

A day in the life of an Optician at HSO:

• Works well with children and takes the initiative to explain frame styling and lens care.
• Follows ANSI optical standards and performs all measurements with accuracy and detail.
• Competently operates standard office equipment and demonstrates knowledge of scheduling and computer processing procedures, to include validating insurance eligibility prior to patient appt as well as vision billing.
• Responsible for the maintenance and disinfection of frames, keeping frame inventory up to date, clean and organized.
• Communicate with parents/guardians as needed for services being performed.
• Travels to all necessary schools and centers.
• Collects payment from patients which may include co-payments, sliding fee charges, NSF check charges, and collection payments.
