Ohio University is a founding partner of the Ohio Innovation Exchange (OIEx), a pioneering digital initiative of the Ohio Department of Higher Education that helps connect businesses and industries with university expertise, research services, and shareable resources from a growing coalition of ten partner universities across Ohio.
OIEx seeks a Partnership Engagement Manager to develop and manage strategic constituent engagement efforts that enhance OIEx awareness, monitor and capture partner expectations of OIEx, and promote collaboration between industry and academic research communities. The incumbent will develop targeted communications, pilot innovative outreach tools, support advisory board initiatives, and help cultivate university ambassador networks that drive participation, showcase success, and foster sustainable partnerships.
The Manager of Partner Engagement and Advocacy serves as a liaison between the Ohio Innovation Exchange (OIEx) team, participating universities, and external partners. This position is responsible for developing and managing strategic relationships that advance collaboration between academic research communities, industry, and government stakeholders. The incumbent independently plans and executes engagement initiatives that enhance visibility, participation, and advocacy for OIEx. Work involves a high level of collaboration, strategic communication, and discretion in representing the program to diverse audiences. This role requires the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, translate stakeholder needs into actionable strategies, and contribute to the continuous improvement and long-term sustainability of the OIEx platform.
Position Profile
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Develops and manages communications strategies to effectively convey the University’s vision to students, employees, alumni, and the public. Develops, implements, and/or executes marketing communications programs. Involves work in two or more communications and marketing disciplines.
Level Summary
Manages and resolves complex and ambiguous issues. Works on both strategic and operational challenges, addressing problems that require advanced knowledge and experience. Often takes on leadership roles in projects or initiatives.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Provides mentorship and guidance to team. Infrequently has a limited number of direct reports

Physical Requirements
This role is primarily desk-based and involves extensive use of desktop computers. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5 or more years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree.
