CNC Horizontal Boring Mill Programmer-Operator

Step into a precision-driven day

You’ll own the full lifecycle of machining on a CNC Horizontal Milling Center or CNC Boring Mill—writing and editing programs, building rock-solid setups, and running parts to exacting tolerances while upholding safety and quality at every step.

Your day, start to finish

• Pull programs from the server over the network and load them into the CNC; insert control instructions to initiate operations.
• Interpret blueprints and program specifications, including GD&T, to define operations, sequences, and finished dimensions.
• Program and make edits using Mazatrol, Celos, and standard G- and M-code (conversational controls included). Experience with Mazatrol 640M, Mazatrol Smooth, Tosnuc, or Celos is preferred.
• Mount, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces using precision instruments and hand tools.
• Set work and tool offsets; adjust tooling and machine parameters to meet product specifications.
• Start the machine, monitor cut conditions, ensure proper lubrication and coolant flow, and capture operational data.
• Listen for telltale signs—vibration, chatter, dull tooling—and proactively correct issues by adjusting feeds/speeds or replacing tools.
• Stop machines as needed to remove finished pieces, change tooling, or modify setups and workpiece placement per the required sequence.
• Measure and verify part features with precision instruments, templates, and fixtures; sort and tag any nonconforming parts by defect type.
• Replace worn tools and keep the cell stocked with the right consumables; help maintain the machine and work area.
