Title: Registered Nurse – CVOR

Location: Akron, OH (Multiple Locations throughout OH nearby Cleveland)

Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: Day – 4×10-hour (07:00 – 17:30)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CVOR Registered Nurse to join a high-performing cardiovascular operating room team. The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on experience in cardiac and vascular surgical procedures and be comfortable with both scrub and circulate responsibilities.

This role requires strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries.
• Assist with preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care.
• Scrub and circulate for open heart and vascular cases as needed.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to facility safety and infection control protocols.
• Participate in on-site ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation.
• Work every other holiday as part of the team schedule.

Required Experience

• Minimum 18 months of recent CVOR experience (required).
• Open Heart and Vascular surgical experience preferred.
• Must have at least 18 months of permanent CVOR experience prior to travel nursing.
• Experience in both scrub and circulate roles preferred.

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing ( BSN ) or Associate Degree in Nursing ( ASN ).

Certifications & Licensure

• BLS – American Heart Association (AHA)
• ACLS – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
• CCRN – Critical Care Registered Nurse (preferred)
• CNOR – Certified Nurse Operating Room (preferred)

Schedule

• Day shift: 07:00 – 17:30
• 4×10-hour shifts per week
• No guaranteed weekends off; must work every other holiday
