Summary

Primarily responsible for providing coaching instruction at a Summer Music Institute camp, and is a representative of the philosophies and goals of the Summer Music Institute and the College of Musical Arts.

Essential Functions

• Attend training meeting prior to check in the first day of camp.
• Coach and instruct ensembles as assigned.
• Supervise campers during activities, special events, overnights, free-time and during meals.
• Execute all emergency procedures with the safety of campers as the first concern.
• Plan and participate in all camp activities with a positive attitude.
• Have a working knowledge of all program areas in camp.
• Assist the DPE, PD, Program Directors, Support Staff, and peers as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be an undergraduate College of Musical Arts student.
• Must be an experienced musician, specializing in the camp's instrument family.
• Must possess good judgement, excellent communication skills and be enthusiastic.

Additional Information

• Note: Housing and meals will be provided to a Counselor/Coach
• Must be available June 14-July 3 for camp events
