Saw Operator
Now hiring Saw Operators for a company in Akron.
Weekly pay ranging between $16 - $20 per hour, depending on experience.
Job Duties:
- Read job specifications to determine material requirements and saw adjustments.
- Position guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures as indicated by scale, rule or template to secure and direct the workpiece using hand tools and measuring devices.
- Set controls to adjust speed/feed rates and blade tensions and adjust as necessary to produce the highest quality part as quickly and safely as possible.
- Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
- Measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of cut part to print.
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust or scale from workpiece.
- Load/unload steel trucks, checking delivered material for order accuracy,
- Maintain steel inventory in an organized manner and assist in conducting annual physical inventory.
- Assist other departments and functions as needed.
Requirements:
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Must demonstrate regular attendance.
