Job Title: Annealing Operator

Available Shifts: 7:00 am to 7:00 pm - 3 day/4 day every other week

We are currently seeking a motivated and dependable Annealing Operator to join our operations team.

Position Summary:

The Annealing Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring annealing equipment to ensure steel products meet quality and customer specifications. This role requires adherence to Quality Management System (QMS) standards, accurate data entry into annealing control systems, and the ability to follow detailed work instructions and customer-specific requirements. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced industrial environment while maintaining high quality standards.

Work Schedule:

• Hours may fluctuate based on business levels.
• Mandatory overtime may be required.
• Flexibility with scheduling is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Operate annealing equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.

• Understand and follow the organization's Quality Management System (QMS) and Quality Policy.

• Review and execute all applicable work instructions and customer-specific requirements (CSR).

• Enter, monitor, and retrieve data in OEM annealing control systems, including:

  • Recipe input

  • System startup and shutdown

  • Emergency shutdown procedures

• Verify work orders and ensure proper processing of materials per specifications.

• Inspect materials and identify quality defects, escalating issues as needed.

• Read and apply packaging and processing instructions accurately.

• Complete required documentation, including data sheets, rejection reports, and tracking systems (e.g., AktakTrak).

• Communicate effectively with supervisors and maintenance teams regarding equipment issues.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

• Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to read and use measuring tools such as tape measures and micrometers.

• Experience operating material handling equipment, including:

  • Remote control cranes

  • Forklifts

• Ability to band coils and handle steel materials safely.

• Proficiency with hand and power tools.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and report quality defects.

• Ability to read and interpret:

  • Work orders

  • Tag information

  • Packaging instructions

  • Technical and operational documents

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

• Basic computer skills for data entry and system navigation.

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

• Ability to recognize maintenance issues and communicate them promptly.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is a plus but not required.
