Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated AI Intern for Summer 2026 (May 18 - early Aug) to join the Finance and Enterprise Risk team at a leading nonprofit research and development organization. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, this role will support a range of emerging initiatives focused on leveraging artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to improve internal operations, strengthen risk management, and enhance service to our research and business teams. This internship provides a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of finance, risk management, and technology in a mission-driven organization that supports government and industry partners. The intern will contribute to one or more AI-enabled projects focused primarily on improving back-office processes such as finance, procurement, compliance, and operational decision support. The role is intentionally flexible, allowing the intern to work across multiple initiatives depending on organizational priorities and the intern's interests and capabilities. Responsibilities Intern activities may include some or all of the following:- Support the development and implementation of AI-enabled tools designed to improve finance, risk, and operational processes
- Assist in evaluating opportunities to automate or streamline internal workflows using emerging technologies
- Conduct research on AI applications relevant to finance, compliance, and enterprise risk management
- Analyze data and help develop insights that support operational efficiency and better decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, CIT, and the business.
- Current undergraduate or graduate student in business, finance, economics, data analytics, computer science, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Interest in artificial intelligence, automation, and operational innovation
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Curiosity and willingness to work across a variety of projects in a dynamic environment
- Must be a US Citizen
