About Us

Fostoria Area Habitat for Humanity is a volunteer-led nonprofit dedicated to helping families build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership and home repair programs.

Through partnerships with volunteers, donors, and community members, we work to ensure everyone has a decent place to live.

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Administrative Assistant to help support the daily operations of our affiliate.

Position Summary

The Administrative Assistant provides essential administrative and organizational support to the Board of Directors and helps ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

This role is ideal for someone who is organized, dependable, and motivated by nonprofit community work .

Key Responsibilities

General Office Support

  • Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and inquiries
  • Greet visitors and provide information about Habitat programs
  • Manage office supplies and general administrative needs

Administrative Support

  • Schedule meetings and events
  • Prepare and distribute correspondence and reports
  • Maintain organized filing systems and databases

Financial & Fundraising Support

  • Collect and organize invoices, receipts, and financial documents
  • Forward financial documents to the Treasurer for processing
  • Assist with donation tracking and fundraising activities

Program & Volunteer Support

  • Support program and construction activities as needed
  • Assist with volunteer coordination and communication
  • Organize applications and program materials

Additional Responsibilities

  • Check the Habitat post office box and distribute mail to the appropriate board members
  • Provide additional administrative support as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • Administrative or office experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar)
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Comfortable working with volunteers, community members, and a nonprofit board
  • Commitment to Habitat for Humanity’s mission

Work Environment

  • 15–20 hours per week
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Primarily office-based in Fostoria
  • Occasional evening meetings or community events
