Step into the Day of a Precision CNC Pro

You arrive, review a drawing packed with GD&T callouts, and decide the best path: Mazatrol conversational, Celos, or straight G/M code. You load the program, mount and align fixtures, zero in your work offsets, and bring a CNC Horizontal Milling Center or Boring Mill to life. As the spindle turns, you listen for telltale signs of tool wear, verify lubrication and coolant flow, and capture operational data—because quality and safety are non‑negotiable. By shift’s end, you’ve produced accurate parts, updated records, and left the machine and tooling ready for the next build.

What You’ll Do

• Program, set up, and operate CNC horizontal machining equipment (HMCs and boring mills) to machine metal components while meeting quality and safety standards.
• Create and edit programs via Mazatrol, Celos, and G/M codes from drawings with thorough GD&T interpretation; experience with Mazatrol 640M, Mazatrol Smooth, Tosnuc, or Celos is preferred.
• Install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces using precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Measure finished parts with gauges, templates, and fixtures to confirm conformance; adjust machines and tooling as needed to meet specifications.
• Start machines, monitor operations, record performance data, and ensure parts are properly cooled and lubricated during machining.
• Transfer programs from servers to CNC control modules via network links; insert control instructions and make offset/program adjustments as required.
• Pause equipment to remove completed parts or to change tooling, setups, or workpiece placement per the machining sequence.
• Inspect for defects such as chipped edges or marred surfaces; sort nonconforming parts by defect type.
• Detect issues like dull tools or vibration by sound and feel; replace cutting tools and correct conditions promptly.

Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Your Toolkit

• Proficiency in: GD&T, CNC tooling, CNC programming, G‑code, M‑code, and production run setups.
• Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools—their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
• Production and processing know‑how: raw materials, quality control, cost awareness, and throughput optimization.
• Solid math skills, including trigonometry, algebra, and geometry applied to machining tasks.
• Commitment to continuous learning through training and technical literature.

• CNC Mill (3–4 axis VMC): Fanuc, Mazak, DMG Mori Seiki.
• CNC Mill (5+ axis VMC): Fanuc, Mazak, DMG Mori Seiki.
• Controls and conversational platforms: Mazatrol (including 640M and Smooth), Tosnuc, Celos.
