Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Akron, Ohio 44304 – Ohio psychiatric nursing jobs
• Facility: Behavioral Health Pavilion – Geropsych Unit (16 private rooms, 1:6/7 nurse-to-patient ratio)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (August 31, 2025 – November 29, 2025)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1910 - $1960
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract Registered Nurse job

Psychiatric RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Ohio or compact state
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• CPI Blue Card (Crisis Prevention Institute) – non-crisis intervention
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Minimum 2 years of recent psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience
• Recent Epic EMR experience (within the past year)
• Proficient in blood draws and IV management
• Willingness to float to Med/Surg or other units within RN scope as needed
• Ability to provide interview availability
• Maximum of 7 days requested time off (RTO) allowed

Psychiatric RN Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to geriatric patients with mental health conditions such as dementia, depression, and suicidal ideation
• Monitor, assess, and document patient progress and response to psychiatric treatment
• Administer medications and manage IVs as required for behavioral health patients
• Perform clinical procedures including blood draws within RN scope of practice
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff in the behavioral health unit
• Float to other clinical units within scope of practice as needed
