- Employment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel Contract)
- Setting: Hospital – Respiratory Therapy Unit
- Start Date: September 10, 2025
- End Date: December 10, 2025
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), rotating weekends and holidays
- Hours per Week: 36
- Guaranteed Hours: 24 per week
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,570 – $1,610 USD
- Graduate of a CoARC-approved Respiratory Therapy program
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) or eligible
- Massachusetts Respiratory Therapist license required
- ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications (to be obtained within 6 months of hire)
- Basic computer skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital or clinical setting
- Ability to meet physical demands: exerting 20-50 lbs occasionally, 10-25 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly
- Gather and evaluate patient information to develop individualized respiratory care plans
- Identify and respond to changes in patient condition
- Assess and provide patient and family education on respiratory therapy and equipment
- Coordinate care and delegate tasks to other healthcare professionals as needed
- Document care plans, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments and oxygen therapy
- Obtain arterial blood gases (ABGs), perform pulse oximetry, pulmonary function tests, and EKGs
- Assist with flexible fiberoptic bronchoscopy procedures
- Set up and monitor mechanical ventilators, BIPAP, and CPAP units
- Provide instruction on cardiopulmonary medications and equipment usage
- Implement and monitor ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) bundle protocols
- Distribute age- and culturally-appropriate patient education materials
