Cement Mason and Concrete Laborer

Job Duties: Workers will perform any and all of the following tasks: Checking/setting forms that hold the concrete to see that they are properly constructed, are at the desired pitch and depth, and align them. Spread, level, and smooth concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float. Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete and move chute to direct concrete on forms. Produce rough concrete surface, using broom. Operate hand and power tools of all types: digging hammers, finishing machines, vibrators, and variety of other equipment and instruments used in cement finishing. Cut out damaged areas, drill holes for reinforcing rods, and position reinforcing rods to repair concrete, using power saw and drill. Grade material using shovel, pick ax, and rake. Provide jobsite cleanup of specific trades work and general cleanup of the complete project.

Special Requirements: Requires three months of concrete foundation experience. Must lift/carry 50 lbs., when necessary. Saturday and Sunday work required, when necessary. Employer-paid drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers prior to commencing work and post-hire at random, upon suspicion of use, and post-accident. Post-hire background check and employment eligibility (e-Verify) check required of foreign and domestic workers. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours.
