Job Title: Medical Assistant II

Location: Cincinnati, OH 45212

Duration: 10 weeks (extendable)

Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Pay Rate: $18/hr – $22/hr

We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant II with at least 2+ years of MA experience , including proficiency in vitals and Epic EMR . The Medical Assistant will play a key role in maintaining smooth patient flow, documenting clinical information, and supporting physicians during clinic operations.

• Maintain patient flow during clinic hours.

• Document review of systems; obtain and record vitals (pulse, respiration, BP, weight, height).

• Update medical, social, and family history, along with medication lists at each visit.

• Accurately record patient information in the EMR .

• Prepare and review patient charts in EMR, ensuring all diagnostic results and reports are available.

• Communicate with outside facilities, pharmacies, and insurance companies to obtain necessary information or pre-authorizations.

• Refill and manage medication records, maintain samples, and dispose of expired medications.

• Prepare and maintain examination/treatment rooms; order supplies as needed.

• Assist with patient assistance paperwork and requests.

• Respond to patient calls, MyChart messages, and manage EMR in-baskets, workflow logs, and work queues.

• Perform clinical duties such as EKGs, cardiac monitoring, vaccinations, phlebotomy, and cast removal .

• Assist with administrative tasks including scheduling, check-in/out, and pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries.

• Maintain compliance with healthcare standards, patient confidentiality, and safety procedures.

• Support training of new employees and serve as an EMR Super User if needed.

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program

Certifications & Licensure:

• BLS certification (required)

Experience:

• Minimum 2+ years as a Medical Assistant

• Experience with vitals and Epic EMR required
