Material Handler I
Summary: To be able to operate a forklift in a safe manner, read a picking list, and pick materials needed for compounding in either the liquids or powders room.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Operate all on-site forklifts
- Put material away in designated racks
- Pick production orders utilizing scanners
- Utilize Sage for inventory look up
- Move material in various size containers that weigh up to 500 lbs using material moving equipment, including but not limited to forklift truck
- Work in accordance with all relevant requirements including, but not limited to, GMP, SQF, OSHA, HAACP, FDA, USDA and internal safety guidelines
- Maintain neat, orderly and clean shop floor and workplace at all times
- Excellent attendance, flexibility, enthusiasm and a positive approach to work performance
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year experience in warehousing/manufacturing environment preferred
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs
- In-house fork truck certification is required
- Forklift operation skills preferred

The employee must regularly lift up to 50 pounds (22.6 kgs.) without assistance and move up to 600-pound (272 kgs.) drums using appropriate equipment, e.g., power floor jack, drum dolly, and/or forklift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to food-grade fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and toxic or caustic (cleaning agents) chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Working in the warehouse may, on occasion, expose this individual to non-hazardous fumes, and noise from equipment such as forklifts and air compressor.
Working in the production rooms may expose this individual to noise from blenders, mixers, pumps, and forklifts.
