Position Overview
The Clinical Mental Health Therapist will deliver outpatient therapy services to children experiencing a variety of emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges. The ideal candidate is a warm, energetic clinician with a deep understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, and family systems. This position involves individual, and family therapy, working closely with parents, care-givers, and schools to help foster a team approach
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct comprehensive intake assessments of children and their families to identify presenting concerns, strengths, and treatment needs.
· Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based modalities tailored to the child’s unique needs and developmental stage.
· Provide individual therapy sessions for children addressing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral issues, bullying, adjustment difficulties, and more.
· Offer family therapy, psychoeducation, and support to caregivers, empowering them to reinforce therapeutic gains at home and advocate for their children.
· Collaborate with psychiatrists and nurse practitioners on medication management when appropriate.
· Liaise with schools, pediatricians, child welfare agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure a coordinated and holistic care approach.
· Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with agency, state, and federal regulations.
· Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and professional development activities to ensure the highest standard of care.
· Engage in ongoing self-care and reflective practice to sustain resilience and effectiveness in work with children and families.
Requirements
· Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution.
· Current and valid state licensure (e.g., LPC, LPCC, LMFT, LCSW, or equivalent). Candidates under supervision may be considered.
· Demonstrated experience providing therapy to children, ideally in a clinical or outpatient setting (minimum of 1-2 years preferred).
· Solid understanding of child and adolescent development, trauma-informed care, play therapy techniques, and family systems theory.
· Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to build rapport and trust with children of diverse backgrounds and developmental abilities.
