Contract Length: 2025-2026

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM

Hours: 37.5/week

Start Date: ASAP

Position Overview

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides high-quality services to individuals in kindergarten through grade 12. This role requires strong collaboration skills and a commitment to participating in team-based planning and implementation of individualized programs, including special instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation with general education staff.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred

  • Valid state teaching certificate as required by state and contract regulations

  • Minimum one year of experience in a teaching or instructional environment preferred

  • Preferred Certifications:

  • Standard Elementary Teaching

  • Standard Secondary Teaching

  • Standard Special Teaching

  • Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) Endorsement preferred

  • Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice

  • Current CPR certification (if applicable)

  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)

  • Current health certificate (as required by state or contract regulations)

  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Assignment Details

  • Bill Rate: $70/hour (up to $75/hour if needed)

  • Pay Package: $48-$50/hour based on experience

  • Timekeeping: MaxView

  • Feedback Time: 48-72 hours

  • Exclusive to Amergis: Yes - Direct
