As our footprint grows, so does the need for clean, accurate, and timely financial records that support strong decision-making. We are looking for a Bookkeeper who takes pride in precision, organization, and keeping the financial engine running smoothly behind the scenes.
Position Summary
The Bookkeeper is responsible for the day-to-day financial recordkeeping across all seven locations and the commissary. This role ensures that transactions are accurately recorded, accounts are reconciled, and financial data is organized and up to date. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-unit environment where consistency and accuracy matter.
Key Responsibilities
Daily & Weekly Transaction Management
- Record all financial transactions, including sales, expenses, deposits, and transfers across all locations.
- Reconcile daily sales from POS systems to bank deposits and accounting records.
- Ensure proper categorization of expenses, including food, labor, occupancy, and operating costs.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely and accurate payment of bills.
- Maintain organized records of all payables and vendor relationships.
- Track incoming payments, deposits, and any receivables (if applicable).
Bank & Account Reconciliations
- Perform regular bank, credit card, and cash reconciliations across all accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain clean and accurate financial records that are ready for monthly close.
Payroll Support
- Assist with payroll processing by organizing and verifying timekeeping data.
- Ensure proper recording of payroll expenses, taxes, and benefits in the accounting system.
- Coordinate with payroll providers and the Controller as needed.
Inventory & Commissary Coordination
- Support tracking of inventory purchases and basic cost allocations across locations.
- Assist in maintaining accurate cost of goods sold (COGS) data in partnership with operations.
- Help ensure commissary production and distribution costs are properly recorded.
Reporting & Organization
- Maintain organized, up-to-date financial records and documentation.
- Assist in preparing weekly and monthly financial reports for the Controller.
- Ensure all documentation is audit-ready and easily accessible.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in multi-location retail, hospitality, or food & beverage.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) and POS systems.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (AP, AR, reconciliations).
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple locations and workflows simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with operations and leadership.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, growing environment where systems are evolving.
