Position Summary
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Interacts with new and existing members by providing specific individualized programs designed to meet his/her fitness needs and goals. Creates a welcoming environment for all members of all backgrounds and abilities.
Rate of Pay
$15 - $20/hour
Qualifications
- Four year degree in Exercise Science or related field and/or certification from a nationally recognized accreditation agency.
- CPR/AED certifications.
- Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
- YMCA/ACE Foundations of Strength & Conditioning within 60 days of hiring.
Responsibilities
- Maintains well-documented, accurate and pertinent information on each client
- Follows through in a timely manner on initial communication with client
- Designs, maintains, and adjusts individual programs specific to the client's needs and wants in accordance with National YMCA guidelines
- Serves as a good role model by maintaining or improving their own personal fitness level
- Supports Y programs, promotions, and events
- Deals with each situation by using the YMCA Character Values
- Develops and maintains community collaborations
- Knows and abides by Y policies and procedures
*** Part-time staff receive complimentary memberships and discounted rates for child care and most programs.
