ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a self-motivated and results-driven Collections and Vendor Relations Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing vendor debts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of vendor dynamics, excel at maintaining current debit balances, and effectively coordinate communication and resolution efforts between vendors and our internal teams.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Proactively collect outstanding vendor debts and reconcile account balances, reporting results to the Accounting Department.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies to ensure both Micro Center and vendor satisfaction.
- Understand vendor-specific requirements for claim credits and tailor approaches accordingly.
- Build and maintain a detailed contact database and organized records of all vendor communications.
- Monitor and review vendor accounts regularly, ensuring all debits remain under 60 days old.
- Accurately match vendor credits to outstanding debits, verifying all applied credits for correctness.
- Serve as the main point of contact for vendors regarding claims, discrepancies, and credit issues.
- Collaborate closely with Merchandise Managers on the resolution of returns, price protections, and promotional matters.
- Work with the Allocation Department to support vendor relationships and enhance communication channels.
- Provide regular updates to the Operations Manager regarding debit statuses and necessary actions to obtain credits.
- Foster strong working relationships with colleagues across the Distribution Center and Accounting teams to support departmental goals.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- High School diploma with 2 years of accounting/collections experience.
- Knowledge of standard accounting procedures and terminology.
- Professional telephone skills are a must.
- Accurate typing and exceptional data entry skills required.
- Ability to meet objectives and deadlines.
- Independent and flexible, yet a team player.
- Organized, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Energetic, with a desire to accomplish objectives.
- Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
