Shipping/Receiving Specialist

A manufacturing company * * has an immediate opportunity for a Shipping/Receiving Specialist to work Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Responsibilities:**

• Prepare both package and freight outbound shipments including building custom skids, packaging/crating, recording weight and dimensions, and applying shipping labels
• Ensure proper manuals, wiring diagrams, instruction sheets, SDS, certificates of conformance, and test results accompany incoming and outgoing shipments
• Communicate with shipping coordinator to schedule pickups with freight carriers and parcel services
• Ensure shipments comply with domestic and international shipping regulations when applicable
• Transport materials to and from local customers and/or vendors in company owned truck when needed and record receipt of goods in purchasing system
• Label, store, and route materials to appropriate departments/storage locations
• Coordinate with purchasing and vendors to resolve discrepancies or damaged shipments, process returns from customers, and update and maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) book/computer files
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED
• Must have 2 years Shipping/Receiving experience and 1 year of forklift/powered industrial truck experience; Forklift certification is a plus, but not required
• Must be able to thoroughly read and understand manuals, wiring diagrams, and instruction sheets
• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
• Must be able to prioritize, be detail-oriented, and multi-task
• Must have a strong work history with no attendance issues
