Day-in-the-life at Cutting Dynamics (A Re:Build Company)

Picture this: you arrive at our Avon, Ohio facility, badge in, and head straight to the lab. You prep the Zeiss CMM, check your calipers and micrometers, and pull up PC-DMIS or Calypso to validate a critical aerospace component. Before noon, you’ve reviewed control plans, reconciled data against engineering datasets, and collaborated with a cross-functional team to resolve a non-conformance—always with prevention and appraisal at the forefront. By day’s end, your meticulous inspection reports and CAPA contributions have helped reduce cost of quality and lifted customer confidence.

This is an onsite role based at Re:Build Cutting Dynamics in Avon, Ohio. For 30+ years, Cutting Dynamics has served aerospace and adjacent sectors with components, assemblies, and kitting. We deliver measurable value through clear objectives, modern technology, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll do

• Lead quality planning to ensure products and data meet specifications and customer expectations.
• Review, gather, and distribute product control-plan data and engineering datasets in line with applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
• Create thorough inspection reports and support remedial action plans to ensure conformance.
• Partner with suppliers and internal teams to investigate root causes of non-conformances, reduce cost of quality, and drive continuous improvement.
• Author and mentor others on procedures and work instructions.
• Engage in the internal corrective and preventive action (CAPA) system to prevent recurrence and avoid cost.

What you bring

• 1–3 years of quality experience in the aerospace industry.
• Specialized training in quality assurance; high school diploma required; some related college coursework preferred.
• Customer-facing or client service experience.
• Training with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Competence with Quality Measurement tooling, including CSM and SPC variance control.
• Ability to read blueprints, manufacturing blueprints, and GDMT.
