RETAIL STORE ASSOCIATE
Job Summary: We currently have an opportunity available for a Retail Store Associate in our Surplus City/Star Supply Bargain Outlet store. We are seeking a dynamic, friendly, out-going person to assist customers and be the face of our brand at our Youngstown, OH store. The Store Associate completes tasks that support the Store Manager and overall customer base. You will have the opportunity to build lasting relationships with customers, guiding them in their purchasing decisions to ensure their satisfaction.
Your role will also involve maintaining the visual standards of the store’s unique environment, restocking shelves and ensuring all merchandise is displayed in an appealing manner. As part of our retail team, you will enjoy a fast-paced environment while developing your sales skills and product knowledge. Our Store hours:
NO EVENING HOURS!
- Monday – Saturday: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
- Sunday – 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends.
Store Associate Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner as they enter the location.
- Answer customer questions, respond to customer requests and resolve customer issues.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point of sale system.
- Perform inventory duties such as unloading, scanning and restocking merchandise on shelves to maintain store presentation standards.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to meet and exceed store goals and objectives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required skills include but are not limited to:
- Excellent critical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform simple calculations.
- Extensive knowledge about the store product and services and customer-related policies.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with pont-of-sale systems.
- Integrity.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
- General Knowledge of Fabrics and Crafts is a plus.
- Knowledge of Hardware and using the Tape Measure is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged period of standing and walking throughout the retail space.
- Must be able to bend, reach and lift up to 50 pounds.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous retail experience preferred.
- Successful completion of job training period.
