Purchasing Specialist - 2nd Shift

A Global OEM Manufacturer is looking for a Purchasing Specialist B Shift to join their team.
Job Summary: This role is focused on managing the supply of parts for mass production, ensuring that materials arrive on time to support plant operations, especially during B shift. It requires strong coordination with suppliers, internal departments, and ERP systems to prevent production delays and maintain inventory accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
· Material Planning & Inventory Control (20%): Use ERP systems to issue and maintain material releases. Monitor inventory levels to support warehouse and production needs. Follow up on supplier and part issues related to B shift.
· Supplier Management & Relationship Building (25%): Maintain effective communication with suppliers. Identify and escalate potential supply issues. Select and evaluate suppliers based on quality, pricing, and reliability.
· Cross-functional Collaboration (20%): Work closely with departments like Purchasing, Engineering, Production Control, and Quality. Coordinate design or input changes that affect supplier processes or delivery.
· Production Support & KPI Focus (10%): Help meet plant KPIs (e.g., prevent downtime or shortages). Quickly respond to and resolve delivery risks.
· Design Change & Implementation (5%): Ensure supplier readiness and timing for design changes, particularly for B shift parts.
· Issue Investigation & Continuous Improvement (10%): Conduct on-site reviews at plants or suppliers to identify and resolve problems. Implement countermeasures to prevent recurrence of issues.
· Project Support & Business Initiatives (10%): Participate in or lead improvement projects that align with company goals.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain, Business or equivalent relevant experience
- Average Experience 0-2 years experience
- Knowledge of basic inventory management and manufacturing workflow · Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work with limited direction.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex problems in a team-based work environment.
- Consistently identify opportunities for continuous improvement · Collect data and apply business knowledge to solve a range of problems · Effectively lead project themes · Effectively sell ideas, securing buy-in from
