Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry (Oncology) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, Epic proficiency, and strong telemetry and oncology-related skills.

Details

• Hospital-based Med/Surg Oncology unit
• Patient population includes those receiving chemotherapy, managing soft tissue malignancies, undergoing symptom management, and being monitored for disease-related comorbidities
• Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention
• Continuous cardiac monitoring is a routine component of patient care on this unit
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Rotating day/night schedule; shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on staffing needs
• Day shift: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM | Night shift: 7:00 PM–7:30 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
• Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Special equipment in use: GE B450 telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
• Epic EMR — experience required

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Required skills: dysrhythmia interpretation, port access, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, IV insertion, assistance with chest tube insertion/removal, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and ABG interpretation
• 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); Charge RN acceptable as 2nd reference; no coworker references accepted
• Ohio state fingerprinting required — must be completed promptly after accepting the position

Additional Information

• Oncology nursing experience preferred but not required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Local candidates are accepted
• Former employees of this facility are eligible for a travel assignment after a minimum 6-month separation
• RTO must be submitted upfront and built into the contract; RTO is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract duration
• Multiple parking permit options are available for purchase through CampusParc, ranging from on-site garage access to budget-friendly surface lot options with shuttle service to the medical center
