Press Operator - Forging

Location: Columbus, OH

12 Hour Shifts:

1st shift - Monday-Thursday 7am-7pm $19.50/hour

3rd shift - Monday-Thursday 7pm-7am $20.50/hour

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Forging Press Operator to join our production team. This role involves operating forging machinery and secondary equipment, handling raw materials, and ensuring all forged products meet quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in forging, and possess strong attention to detail, work ethic, and teamwork skills.

• Operate forging machinery and secondary equipment, including manually feeding materials into machines
• Handle and transport materials using a forklift in a safe and efficient manner
• Assist with setup and operation of forging presses, hammers, or upsetters as required
• Measure and document forged product dimensions to ensure conformance with specifications and quality standards
• Perform operator-level maintenance to keep forging equipment running smoothly
• Support maintenance personnel during major equipment breakdowns
• Sort and process non-conforming forged parts as needed
• Clean and maintain forging machines, workstations, and surrounding areas to promote a safe work environment
• Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned by supervisors or team leads
• Follow 5S principles to maintain an organized and efficient workspace
• Report and document any equipment-related maintenance issues to the supervisor and maintenance team
• Complete maintenance request forms accurately for breakdowns or service needs
• Fill out required production and quality documentation completely and accurately
• Perform all tasks within the scope of your training and job qualifications
• Protect confidential and proprietary company information
• Follow all verbal and written instructions from supervisors and team leads
• Adhere to the company's Stop, Call, Wait safety protocol
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
• Basic math skills required for measurements and documentation
• Prior experience in forging or heavy industrial manufacturing preferred
• Forklift experience and certification preferred or ability to obtain certification
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with high temperatures and heavy materials
