Aspen Careers is partnering with a respected, mid-sized Columbus-based law firm to add a Probate Paralegal to its growing Estate Planning practice. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly collaborative team supporting a busy and expanding probate administration practice.

Job Title: Probate Paralegal
Location: Worthington (Columbus area) – primarily in-office with flexibility in scheduling

What You’ll Do:

• Manage and support 50–60 probate administration cases
• Prepare and file probate documents, inventories, and accountings
• Complete Medicaid applications from start to finish
• Prepare 709 gift tax returns, 1041 fiduciary income tax returns , and occasional federal estate tax returns
• Maintain case files, deadlines, and documentation
• Communicate with clients, courts, and government agencies
• Collaborate across the estate planning team to support broader practice needs

The Ideal Candidate:

• Proven experience in probate administration
• Hands-on experience with Medicaid applications
• Experience or knowledge of tax return preparation (709, 1041, estate tax)
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage a high-volume caseload
• Excellent communication and client service skills
• Team-oriented with flexibility to assist beyond core responsibilities
• Estate planning experience is a plus
