Senior Staff Accountant

We are seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This individual contributor role is designed for an experienced accounting professional with strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent analytical capabilities, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
The Senior Staff Accountant will play a key role in the month-end close process, reconciliations, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency across accounting functions. What You’ll Do:
- Lead and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Prepare and review complex journal entries and account reconciliations
- Maintain and analyze general ledger activity to ensure financial accuracy
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies and controls
- Assist with preparation for external audits and provide audit support documentation
- Research and resolve accounting issues and discrepancies independently
- Support implementation and improvement of accounting processes and controls
- Partner cross-functionally with departments such as payroll, operations, HR, and FP&A
- Assist with technical accounting projects, system implementations, and ad hoc analyses
- Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced accounting staff as needed

What We’re Looking For:- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- Experience: 4-7+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and work independently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and professional judgment

Bonus Points For:- Public accounting experience
- CPA designation or Active pursuit of CPA designation
Candidates within 30 miles of one of our four office locations may be asked to come into the office for a hybrid schedule depending on the role.
