CNC Laser Cutting Technician

Step into precision: your next move as a CNC Laser Cutting Technician

Picture starting your shift with a calibrated workstation, material staged, and a clear plan to cut parts on both CO2 and Fiber laser systems. You’ll learn and master both technologies, adjust programs on the fly, and keep production moving safely and accurately.

What your shift looks like

• 2nd shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:30 pm–2:00 am
• Training: 4–8 weeks on 1st shift
• Shift premium: $1.50/hour, begins during 1st shift training
• Overtime: posted the Wednesday prior to the week worked

What you’ll do

• Champion a safe workspace and follow all safety and quality procedures.
• Set up and operate CNC laser equipment (CO2 and Fiber), including making program adjustments for optimal results.
• Operate sit‑down forklifts to move materials between areas.
• Complete additional tasks that support production and teammates.

What you bring

• Ability to operate a sit‑down forklift.
• Read and interpret simple blueprints.
• Use common hand tools: hammer, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, grinders, and banders.
• Use precision measuring tools: tape measure, box calipers, sliding/dial calipers, and micrometers.
• Comfort converting fractions ↔ decimals and metric ↔ English units.
• Deliver high‑quality output for internal and external customers.
• Set up and operate one or more processing machines.
• Speak, write, and understand conversational English.
• Strong attention to detail.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Physical and environmental demands

• Lift 20–60 lbs repeatedly during the shift.
• Bend, sit, stand, twist, and stoop for extended periods.
• Walk throughout the shift.
• Fine motor coordination to grasp and manipulate parts with precision.

Work occurs indoors and outdoors with changing temperatures, loud noise, equipment vibration, and:

• Hazards: proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, high heat, and chemicals.
• Atmospheric conditions: fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or areas with limited ventilation.
• Oils: exposure to oils and cutting fluids (air and/or skin contact).
