Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Shop Helper/Laborer to join our team. This role is essential in supporting welders, metal fabricators, and other skilled tradespeople by assisting with material handling, shop organization, and basic operational tasks. The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, adaptable, and eager to learn.

Pay:$19.00 an hour//Paid Weekly!!

Shift: M-F 5:00 am - 1:30 pm

Responsibilities

• Assist welders and metal workers with daily tasks, including material preparation and cleanup.
• Move and stage raw materials, parts, and finished products throughout the shop.
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including sweeping, debris removal, and tool storage.
• Perform basic measurements and inspections to ensure materials meet specifications.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper PPE usage.
• Support production workflow by ensuring timely delivery of materials to workstations.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed.

Essential Skills

• General labor experience
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as forklifts and overhead cranes
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16th of an inch

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience in a manufacturing, construction, or heavy industrial setting preferred
• Mechanically inclined and able to perform basic fabrication tasks
• Ability to work in a non-temperature controlled, heavy industrial setting

Work Environment

This role is based in a non-temperature controlled fabrication shop environment with exposure to heat, noise, and heavy machinery. The position requires standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs for extended periods. Occasional overtime and weekend shifts may be required to meet project deadlines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilmington, DE.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
