Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (Ohio licensure or eligibility required)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Knowledge of a variety of instructional strategies to address student needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to adapt quickly, maintain organization, and promote a positive classroom atmosphere
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students with varying learning profiles
- Create and update IEPs, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to support student progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and specialists
- Monitor student achievement, collect data, and adjust instruction as needed
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom culture focused on respect and achievement
- Communicate regularly with families and guardians regarding student goals, progress, and strategies
- Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation in compliance with all regulations
