Mother/Baby RN Job Details – Columbus, OH

• Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Ohio nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: 40-bed inpatient postpartum unit (Family-Centered Care)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/20/2025 – End: 1/19/2026)
• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:30), 36 hours/week, every other weekend required
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,720 - $1,770 per week
• Patient Population: Neonates and adults; average daily census of 60
• Orientation: 36 hours

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent postpartum (Mother/Baby) nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• BLS certification required
• IV start skills and labor & delivery (L&D) experience
• EPIC charting experience
• IV certification
• NRP certification preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Ability to float to similar acuity units within the healthcare organization as needed
• Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leadership)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Mother/Baby RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive postpartum and couplet care to mothers and newborns
• Perform newborn assessments, monitor for hypoglycemia, and provide phototherapy as needed
• Administer medications, including IV antibiotics, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
• Provide breastfeeding instruction and support, teach circumcision care, and discharge education to parents
• Care for patients with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension
• Start and maintain peripheral IVs, perform bladder assessments, and manage foley catheter insertions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV teams, physical therapy, social services, and pharmacy
• Float to antepartum or other nursing units as required
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using EPIC
