Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Oncology Duration: 16 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of medical-surgical and oncology experience required. Hematology-Oncology experience is strongly preferred. License: Valid nursing license required. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Preferred: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), Chemotherapy Certification. Must-Have: Experience with computerized charting systems, specifically Epic. Skills in telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Experience with feeding tube care and management and blood product administration. Ability to manage central and peripheral lines, including PICC line management. Description: The unit cares for patients undergoing various types of bone marrow transplants, including autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic transplants. Patient diagnoses include Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, Acute Myeloid Leukemia, Amyloidosis, Aplastic Anemia, Chronic Leukemia, and Multiple Myeloma, among others. Strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention. Experience with telemetry monitoring is essential. Knowledge of rapid response teams and maintaining patient safety protocols is required. Candidates must have experience managing ports, administering blood products, and understanding isolation precautions. Responsibilities will include recognizing and communicating abnormal lab values and providing comprehensive inpatient oncology care. This role involves working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Candidates must meet experience requirements within the last three years and have at least one year of current specialty experience for clinical assessments.
