Cavalier’s accounting department seeks a professional, organized, and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a full-time Supplier Accounts Payable Specialist. Cavalier’s accounting and finance department is a 7-person collaborative team that manages related functions for our companies operating in different states. 

Our team members range from hybrid to remote, based on their specific roles. It is our goal to provide an environment that prioritizes work life balance. The Supplier Accounts Payable Specialist. position will be in-person at our Blue Ash office for the first six months with the option to work a hybrid schedule (up to 2 days remote) as training and duties allow. Our Accounting team typically works Monday through Friday approximately 9 am - 5 pm.

The Accounts Payable Specialist will support Cavalier Distributing through accurate and timely payments to our suppliers and vendors.

Principle Responsibilities:

• Match supplier invoices with purchase order, receiving documents and packing slips to ensure accuracy of payment.
• Maintain a current open purchase order file and supplier accounts receivable aging.
• Correspond with suppliers and respond to inquiries.
• Bill back suppliers as needed for samples, promotions, etc. Follow up to collect/apply outstanding supplier receivables.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
• Research and provide reports as needed.
• Proactively work to improve accounts payable processes and systems.
• Assist other areas of the Accounts Payable team and the Accounting Department as needed.

Requirements

• Experience with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
• Willingness to learn financial software, ERP, and other integrated applications
• Prior experience with QuickBooks Enterprise preferred, but not required
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to manage time efficiently to prioritize various tasks while continuing to meet deadlines
• Positive attitude with a desire to learn and be a part of a strong team
