The RN will provide high-level care to patients who are transitioning from intensive care to medical-surgical or general care units. This role requires strong critical thinking, cardiac monitoring skills, and clinical expertise to support patients with complex and changing conditions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to stepdown unit patients.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, respiratory status, and other vital signs .
• Administer medications, IVs, and treatments as prescribed.
• Assist with post-ICU recovery plans and continued stabilization .
• Document nursing interventions, assessments, and care plans .
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on recovery expectations and home care .
• Travel to different healthcare facilities based on assignment.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited RN nursing program .
• License: Active RN license in the state of assignment or compact license.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of stepdown or progressive care experience preferred.
• Skills: Strong assessment, telemetry monitoring, and patient care skills.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Travel Readiness: Willingness to take on travel assignments .
