**This is an On-Site role based out of our Laboratory located in Akron, OH.**
**The Target Pay for this position is $28.65 an hour. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.**
**Job Purpose/Overview**
The Lead Laboratory Technician oversees the day-to-day activities in an animal diagnostic reference laboratory performing laboratory analyses and tests. Supervises staff, assigns work and evaluates results.

+ Supervise day-to-day activities in the laboratory performing laboratory analyses and tests
+ Supervise staff, assign work and monitor activities
+ Resolve escalated issues
+ Administer employment actions, provide coaching and guidance to staff and promote staff training and development
+ Provides input to department policies and procedures
+ Leads work activities of the lab planning and organizing work, providing adequate staffing and resources and maintaining work on schedule so that ongoing customer satisfaction is maintained
+ Communicate with other related departments and laboratory supervisors and managers to coordinate work and resolve issues as needed.
+ Contribute to the maintenance of department diagnostic equipment and other technical resources
+ Coordinate with internal personnel, vendors and others as needed to resolve issues and maintain ongoing functionality
+ Train on all according to all Standard Operating Procedures
+ Oversee the entering and releasing of results
+ Oversee the building and packing of send outs to the main lab.
+ Train on workflow and production goals
+ Order and maintainan appropriate level of supplies
+ Review of Quality Control Protocols
+ Provide feedback regarding staff performance to leadership
+ Perform other duties as assigned

**Education** **and** **Experience**
+ High school diploma or equivalent required
+ 2- or 4-year degree in science related field preferred or minimum of 1-year clinical laboratory experience
+ Prior leadership experience preferred

+ General science background
+ Attention to detail and ability to work independently
+ Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
+ The ability to communicate information so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
+ Personal computer skills, strong typing ability, and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
