Operations Lead - 2nd Shift
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of leading a hardworking 2nd Shift team, guiding day‑to‑day production and warehouse activities with confidence and growing leadership skill.
- Assign work tasks clearly and efficiently, helping teammates understand expectations and succeed in their roles.
- Partner closely with other departments and support functions to keep shift operations running smoothly.
- Step in quickly to identify issues on the floor — whether product, process, or quality — and help resolve or escalate them appropriately.
- Ensure any nonconforming product is controlled and corrected before moving forward.
- Play a hands‑on role in onboarding and training new team members, building a capable and confident workforce.
- Encourage continuous improvement by supporting teammates, sharing ideas, and strengthening teamwork.
- Keep safety front‑and‑center by speaking up about concerns and reinforcing safe work habits.
- Model the behavior of a strong front‑line leader — dependable, positive, and consistent — helping shape a supportive team culture.
- Communicate shift performance, challenges, and improvement ideas with transparency and ownership.
- Follow up on assigned responsibilities and ensure work is completed to standard.
- Take on additional tasks needed to support the success of the shift.
Qualifications

- Experience working on a shop floor or in operations, with a desire to take the next step into leadership.
- Some prior experience leading people — formally or informally — such as mentoring peers, training new hires, or serving as a team lead.
- Strong communication and people‑skills, especially in motivating teammates and building trust.
- Comfortable learning and using systems such as Excel, Word, and other systems.
- A natural coach who enjoys helping others learn, grow, and improve.
- Demonstrated initiative — someone who steps up, follows through, and wants to develop into a strong, respected front‑line leader.
