About the Role:
The Kalmbach Feeds Purchasing team requires a hard working and conscientious person, who has a strong desire to grow and learn. The successful contributing team member in this role will combine a positive attitude and strong attention to detail to learn as much as possible and make a meaningful contribution during their internship. As a member of the Kalmbach team, the successful candidate must be sensitive to customer needs, corporate goals, team member goodwill and company reputation.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Improve and organize our ingredient labels, approved supplier forms and other quality documents
- Systematically evaluate and catalogue suppliers to create an approved supplier library Kalmbach can leverage to lower ingredient cost.
- Improve department execution by organizing all US and Global suppliers in a comprehensive list and map for better strategic discussions.
- Review and improve our ingredient bid processes by adding clarity and structure to the specifications request, price discovery and 10 price charts.
- Working with the Purchasing leadership team to improve efficiency and execution across various other projects within the department.
The Right Candidate:
- Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Agribusiness, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or other related field of study
- Reliable with strong work ethic and positive disposition
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Outstanding time management skills
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
- Thrives in a fast-paced work environment.
- Proficient in windows-based software programs
