This role supports the Akron Billing Center in Fairlawn, OH.

Candidates should live a commutable distance to the billing center as it's required to go on-site one day a month.

OVERVIEW:

The Payment Processing Representative provides overall support and preparation of documents for the Payment Posting (Patient Accounts) team. The representative is responsible for downloading bank reports, downloading and preparing mail and correspondence batches, scanning live checks, processing credit cards payments, downloading payer remittance advices from websites and calling carriers to obtain missing remittance advices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Download all deposits and correspondence from bank portal
  • Download of 5/3 Bank reports from bank portal daily
  • Process credit card payments via the Cedar portal to be posted by Patient Accounts
  • Download all EOBs or 835 files from various websites to save to the company shared drive in a timely manner
  • Prepare live checks to be sent via FedEx to 5/3 every Wednesday by the Patient Accounts Senior
  • Classification of manual vs. EDI deposits logged to department spreadsheets daily
  • Verification of checks on EDI exchanges by using function 52 Billing Center Check Search within IDX/GE
  • Call carriers and visit websites to obtain missing remittance advices

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Excel, knowing how to upload/download documents, saving documents
  • Strong attention-to-detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Proficiency in 10-key number pad and adding machine
  • Effective telephone communication skills
  • Able to navigate internet browsers: Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, etc.

PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

Productivity standards and month-end closing schedules may create a stressful environment.

This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, and fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
