About the Role:
The Superintendent at Marian Construction will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing construction projects from inception to completion. This position is responsible for ensuring that all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Superintendent will coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations and resolve any issues that may arise on-site. Safety management is a critical aspect of this role, as the Superintendent will implement and enforce safety protocols to protect all personnel involved in the construction process. Ultimately, the Superintendent will ensure that projects are delivered successfully, meeting both client expectations and regulatory requirements.
Skills:
The required skills in construction management and commercial construction will be utilized daily to plan, execute, and oversee various construction projects. Proficiency in construction safety is essential, as the Superintendent will implement safety protocols and conduct training sessions for on-site personnel. Skills in subcontracting and pre-construction processes will aid in effectively managing relationships with subcontractors and ensuring that all pre-construction activities are completed efficiently. Knowledge of constructability will be applied to assess project designs and identify potential issues before they arise. Additionally, familiarity with masonry and demolition techniques will enhance the Superintendent's ability to oversee specialized tasks and ensure quality workmanship.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily construction activities and manage on-site personnel to ensure project timelines are met.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Prepare and maintain project schedules, budgets, and reports to track progress and address any discrepancies.
- Facilitate communication between project stakeholders, including clients, architects, and engineers, to ensure alignment on project goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction management.
- Must be proficient in technology to work with the project software we use.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, word & Outlook).
- Must be able and willing to travel to the jobsite(s) as assigned, possibly up to 250 miles away from Louisville, KY. (Accommodations, travel home bi-weekly, and per-diems while onsite will be provided.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Projects over $25M is preferred.
- Certification in Construction Safety Management or similar.
- Experience in multifamily housing, commercial/institutional, and adaptive re-use construction is preferred.
- Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, Smartsheet, MS Project preferred.
