Credit Collections Analyst

Essential Functions:

  • Practice sound judgement to release customer orders daily for all Domestic Operations.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and work with customers on collecting past due balances.
  • Research and resolve customer issues and complaints concerning billing, short pays, etc.
  • Review credit limits annually for assigned customers to ensure accurate limits.
  • Process adjustments and payments to customer accounts as needed.
  • Generate weekly cash receipts forecast.
  • Calculate monthly DSO.
  • Calculate bad debt reserve and submit uncollectible items for write-off approval.
  • Escalate customer issues to management per the collections guidelines.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Must have experience in creative problem solving and customer negotiations.
  • Other duties as needed.

Education and experience qualifications:

  • Understanding of Accounts Receivable
  • 3-5 years credit/collections experience
  • Prefer experience working in an ERP environment (Oracle, SAP)
  • Extensive knowledge of credit and collection risk management, advance collection techniques, the use of D&B credit agency information, the use of letters of credit for domestic and international applications. Therefore, formal education in courses that relates to these areas and attending relevant seminars as needed are essential for this position.
  • College degree or equivalent experience necessary.

Relationships & Contacts:

  • Reports directly to the AR & Credit Manager and is responsible for all financial operations compliance.
  • Essential contact with all levels throughout the company regarding collection and credit matters.

Work Environment:

  • No travel expected
  • Physical Requirements: Standing, sitting, walking, bending as needed.
  • Hearing and vision required to be within normal ranges with or without correction.
  • Required to operate traditional office equipment including computers, copiers, fax machines and telephones.

  • Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Displays ambitious, positive attitude
  • Interpersonal skills to build relationships with divisional finance team and business customers at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
