Gahanna 43230, 2nd shift 3pm-12am Monday-Friday $18

Prefer to have hospital or Food Manufacturing janitorial experience

Position Summary:

The Janitorial Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment within a food manufacturing warehouse. This role ensures compliance with food safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards by performing routine and deep cleaning tasks in production and non-production areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize floors, walls, ceilings, and equipment in accordance with food safety standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, GMP).
• Perform routine cleaning of warehouse spaces including storage areas, production lines, break rooms, offices, and restrooms.
• Follow strict sanitation procedures to prevent contamination of food products.
• Use approved cleaning chemicals and disinfectants safely and according to guidelines.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment as needed for deep cleaning.
• Remove waste, recyclables, and food byproducts in a timely and sanitary manner.
• Monitor and restock cleaning and sanitation supplies.
• Document cleaning activities and maintain sanitation logs as required.
• Identify and report maintenance or safety issues (leaks, pest activity, damaged surfaces).
• Adhere to all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements and safety protocols.
• Support pest control and audit readiness efforts.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous janitorial or sanitation experience in a food manufacturing or warehouse environment is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety standards is a plus.
• Ability to handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures (cold storage, production areas).
• Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks.

Work Environment:

• Exposure to food production areas, machinery, and cleaning chemicals.
• May require working nights, weekends, or overtime depending on production schedules.
