Senior Advisor, Data Management & Governance
What Data Management and Governance contributes to Cardinal Health
Data Management and Governance provides direction of data assets and is responsible for data strategy, quality, standards and service levels. Data management acquires, validates, standardizes, enriches, protects and publishes structured, third party and unstructured data for use by the business. Governance defines and implements policies, standards and metrics that ensure the effective and efficient use of trusted data and statistical models to support regulatory and business goals.The Senior Advisor, Data Management and Governance plays a key role in advancing enterprise-wide data governance capabilities, with a primary focus on critical finance and supplier data management initiatives. This individual contributor role operates within the Digital Solutions – Finance Digital Partner organization and serves as a subject matter expert in data management and governance. While not a formal people manager, the Senior Advisor will act as a team lead, providing guidance and mentorship to peers and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Champion the implementation and adoption of the Data Governance Playbook.
- Collaborate with Data Owners, Stewards, and SMEs to define and achieve targets for data management maturity and data quality.
- Maintain accurate records of data ownership, prioritization, and criticality of key data elements.
- Ensure comprehensive metadata documentation and stewardship using Collibra.
- Develop and oversee current and future state data flow diagrams, identifying dependencies and integration points.
- Partner with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure data compliance with internal and external standards.
- Support strategic projects such as the annual transfer pricing refresh, lighthouse initiatives, and other high priority use cases aligned with business goals.
Qualifications
- 8-12 years of experience, preferred
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
- Data operations, data governance, or analytics experience preferred
- SAP or other ERP experience is needed
- Finance or Supplier related experience is preferred
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills required
- Project management skills to plan, organize and execute work independently
- Knowledge of data management processes
- Ability to drive change and influence without direct authority.
- Skilled in understanding data structures and data elements
- Track record of driving data governance, data quality and data remediation
- Effectively handles and guides data modeling, data lineage and data usage decisions
- Ability to understand the business, high-level technical solutions and associated data creation and consumption

Anticipated salary range: $103,500 - $155,295
