Broadband Expansion Account Manager

About The Role
We are seeking a Broadband Expansion Account Manager to lead the development and expansion of broadband initiatives, including 5G networks and MDU connectivity projects. This role will focus on business development, partnerships, project funding (including grants), and driving a pipeline of broadband projects to sustain and grow our impact. The ideal candidate will have experience in broadband infrastructure, community partnerships, grant writing, and sales/account management. This role is crucial to ensuring our engineering and technical teams have a steady flow of projects while fostering strategic partnerships with housing organizations, municipalities, and nonprofit agencies.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Develop and expand broadband projects in targeted regions, including Cuyahoga County, Philadelphia, Seattle, and Kansas City.
- Identify, engage, and manage partnerships with housing authorities, local governments, nonprofits, and community organizations to drive new broadband expansion opportunities.
- Generate revenue and funding opportunities through business development, project sales, and grant applications to secure funding for broadband deployments.
- Create and maintain a strong pipeline of broadband deployment projects, with KPIs for the number of new projects added per month and year.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering and technical teams to ensure project viability, alignment with community needs, and execution timelines.
- Develop proposals and presentations to effectively communicate broadband expansion solutions to potential partners and funders.
- Track and report performance metrics related to broadband expansion, including project success rates, funding secured, and partnerships developed.
- Stay up to date on broadband policy, funding opportunities, and regulatory changes impacting last-mile connectivity and digital inclusion.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Desired Skills/Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in business development, account management, grant writing, or broadband infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of broadband deployment, 5G technology, or MDU connectivity preferred.
- Experience working with housing authorities, local governments, or nonprofit organizations in digital equity initiatives is a plus.
- Proven ability to secure funding or drive sales through partnerships, government contracts, or philanthropy.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive results against KPIs.
- Self-starter with a strategic mindset and ability to work independently.
