Junior Data Engineer (Cincinnati)
- Assist with writing and optimizing SQL queries to support reporting and adhoc data requests
- Help create basic database objects (tables, views) and maintain data dictionaries and documentation
- Support routine data quality checks (duplicates, nulls, referential integrity) and simple SQLbased transformations
- Participate in loading data into staging tables and preparing datasets for downstream use
- Troubleshoot query issues (e.g., incorrect results, slow performance) with guidance from senior engineers
- Collaborate with analytics teams to validate results and ensure datasets meet business needs
- Foundational SQL proficiency: comfortable writing basic queries and joins; curiosity to learn window functions and indexing
- Understanding of relational database concepts (keys, normalization vs. denormalization)
- 02 years of professional experience (or internship/capstone/bootcamp projects); recent grads welcome
- Detailoriented, coachable, and comfortable asking questions and working through feedback
- Able to document work clearly and communicate findings to nontechnical stakeholders
- Bonus (not required): exposure to Excel/Google Sheets or a BI tool (Power BI/Tableau), and interest in learning simple ETL concepts
- Learn directly from experienced data engineers while working on meaningful, production datasets
- Clear growth path from SQL fundamentals to broader data engineering skills over time
