Position Overview
As the Sr. Lead Product Manager – Ultrasound, you will be responsible for the strategic direction, planning, and development of Canon’s ultrasound portfolio. You will collaborate with global teams, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and research & development (R&D) to shape product innovations that meet market needs and enhance healthcare solutions. Reporting to the Director of Product Management, you will drive business decisions, identify opportunities, and ensure Canon remains at the forefront of ultrasound technology.
Key Responsibilities
Market Research & Strategy
- Identify market opportunities and portfolio gaps to guide business growth and product positioning.
- Analyze clinical trends, competitive insights, and customer needs to validate feature sets and value propositions.
- Work with upstream marketing specialists to evaluate market size, segmentation, pricing models, and competitive landscapes.
- Develop recommendations for an Ultrasound product portfolio strategy, ensuring alignment with Canon’s corporate objectives.
Product Development & Management
- Gain a deep understanding of customer workflows and product gaps to drive innovation and differentiation.
- Evaluate new product opportunities, clinical applications, and technical advancements.
- Assess business and market viability risks for new products and develop data-driven investment cases.
- Translate research and customer insights into clear product requirements for development teams.
- Engage directly with key customers, clinical experts, and sales teams to refine concepts and usability.
- Define and execute product strategy in collaboration with R&D teams, ensuring prioritization of product attributes.
- Partner with clinical teams to design research studies that support market adoption and regulatory approvals.
- Provide recommendations on pricing, reimbursement, and health system strategies to expand product reach.
- Represent Canon at industry conferences to showcase the company’s leadership in ultrasound imaging.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with Upstream Marketing & Partner Development teams to strengthen marketing and KOL engagement initiatives.
- Act as the central liaison between global teams, including business units, engineering, regulatory, and marketing functions.
- Support internal teams by providing strategic guidance for commercialization readiness.
- Partner with Canon Global Marketing to develop effective messaging for external stakeholders, payers, and trade channels.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree (M.S., Ph.D., or MBA preferred) in marketing, health sciences, or related field.
- 9+ years of experience in healthcare industry strategy, medical devices, or ultrasound technology.
Required Competencies
- Strong business acumen with expertise in product development, marketing, and sales within the healthcare sector.
- Knowledge of ultrasound technology, clinical applications, and healthcare reimbursement models.
- Ability to identify customer needs, market segmentation, and value propositions through research and analysis.
- Effective communication skills for engaging with KOLs, customers, internal teams, and regulatory bodies.
- Experience managing KOL relationships and advisory boards.
- Understanding of US healthcare regulations and approval processes for medical devices.
Location & Travel
- Based in CHCU’s home office in Mayfield Village (Cleveland), Ohio. This position will move to our permanent HQ on Cedar and 105th in Opportunity Corridor, Downtown Cleveland in 2026. “Remote” could be an option with this position
- Domestic and international travel required.
