PICU RN Job Details – Columbus, OH

• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (travel nursing contract)
• Location: Columbus, OH 43205 (Ohio healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Float Pool
• Start Date: October 13, 2025
• End Date: January 12, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30)
• Total Hours: 36 hours per week
• Orientation: 72 hours
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2250–$2310 per week

PICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Ohio or Compact RN license (required at time of application)
• Minimum 2 years of recent PICU nursing experience
• BLS and PALS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
• Proficiency with EPIC charting (self-rated 3/4 or higher)
• Ability to float to NICU, CV PICU, Emergency Department, stepdown, and MedSurg units
• Two professional references (one must be a nurse manager or supervisor)
• No prior permanent employment at this facility within the last 2 years
• Commitment to stay through the New Year; no time off approved for 12/24-12/25
• First-time travel nurses considered (3+ years of experience and Level 1 Trauma experience preferred)
• Non-local candidates only (must live outside a 60-mile radius of Columbus, OH)

PICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
• Float to NICU, CV PICU, Emergency Department, stepdown, and MedSurg units as needed
• Perform advanced nursing interventions: ventilator management, central line care, hemodynamic monitoring, and administration of critical medications
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR
• Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and hospital protocols
• Participate in orientation and ongoing professional development for travel nurses
